Radiographs play a very important role in veterinary medicine. They provide examination of bone, abdominal organs (such as the liver, kidneys, stomach, intestinal tract, colon, bladder and spleen), heart and lungs. And is often the first step in diagnosing your pet’s problem. They not only help diagnose current injury or disease but they can also help diagnose potential problems before your pet starts displaying symptoms of illness.
We are proud to offer digital radiology (as of fall of 2017). Digital radiology allows us to take radiographs of your pet quickly. If your pet requires radiographs our team of technicians will take your pet in back and get all the images recommended by your doctor. The doctor is then able to view the images right away and come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan for your pet. We sometimes have to use radiographs in conjunction with other diagnostic tests (such as ultrasound, echocardiogram, blood work or urinalysis).
If you have any questions about our radiology services or what to expect during your pet’s visit with us, please don’t hesitate to ask.
