Our doctors are available for surgery Monday–Friday and perform routine procedures such as spays, neuters, declaws, and mass removals. We are also equipped for more extensive surgical procedures, such as cystotomies, urinary obstructions, foreign bodies, and some orthopedic procedures. For more advanced orthopedic procedures we work closely with Twin Cities Veterinary Surgical Specialists who are board-certified surgeons that will perform surgeries at our hospital when needed.
Each procedure is monitored by one of our veterinary technicians to ensure the safety of your pet. The technician will assess your pet’s heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, body temperature, and other vitals throughout the entire procedure. As a precaution, we strongly recommend pre-anesthetic blood work for all patients undergoing general anesthesia which will help us identify and plan for potential complications.
After each procedure, patients recover in a kennel that is padded with blankets as the anesthesia wears off, and our technician will check in on them regularly to make sure they are comfortable and recovery smoothly.
